I did a full floor size with doors, windows and outlets indicated. I then cut out out-lines of all major equipment, benches, etc. I found it much easier to shuffle little pieces of paper around than to move stuff on the computer. Be sure to include in your out-lines infeed and outfeed parameters (ie: 8' on either side of the tablesaw, infeed/outfeed of the jointer, planer, Compound Miter Saw, etc).
Of course you do realize that this is only the beginning. Except for the tablesaw, my shop has been rearranged at least 3-4 times since the first lay-out.
George

My Pop-up blocker was stopping it. And I had recently turned off the pop-up blocker sound so I was not hearing the normal warning to let me allow the pop-up to launch. Dumb. Dumb.
I have a 3-D Design tool to plan the building, windows, doors, electrical, lights, etc., I just wanted to use a tool to help with the shop tool layout. I don't want to rearrange it as much as I have with my current shop, trying to get the most efficient layout within the confines of the space.

It has got to be the most elaborarte shop layout in sketchup I have ever seen and it is 3-D to boot. If you have trouble with modifying the machines or something, let me know and I will modify/change and send them to you. http://www.crowsnest.us/woodshop/new_woodshop_plans.htm |

I see he is not Sketchup challenged. I have started playing around with the layout program on the Grizzly site. A lot more work to do yet to get it close to what I think I want/need. I have not had much time to work with it yet. But I am not in a rush...plenty of time before I need a finished plan.
Thanks for the info and offer.
