The smallest piece Lowe's has cost $36 (I think it is 48 X 4 . I'm building a crosscut sled and need it for the blade guard. Does anyone know of a place that will cut it in smaller pieces and not charge for the whole sheet? |

It cuts better and won't shatter if it ever accidently comes in contact with a spinning cutter.
I have ordered from this place at least 3 times and never had a problem. http://freckleface.com/shopsite_sc/s...inchthick.html

The piece on top of the fan/filter in my current avatar (that's my clone - Ryan - who lives up to expectations that come with that far too often ) is a stock piece from Lowes in Cary. I mean bar code and everything; I pulled it out of a stack. There were several different sizes and thicknesses available. I think I paid around $5.
Edit - in case I change my avatar, here is the one I was referring to: |

They are a great source for slightly odd things like Delrin, really thick polycarb, etc.
