A huge red oak on my property was cut down by the electric company. They left it back in the bush. I rough cut it (quarter sawn) with a chainsaw because it was too heavy to haul out of the forest. Does anyone know a portable (or non portable) saw mill in the area near Greensboro, Burlington, Chapel Hill, Durham or Raleigh that would do this work for me? I'd hate to burn it as firewood.

If you could bring it to Bullock I would be more than happy to saw it up for you for. I like big logs, how big is it across (not around) on the small end?

Thanks

I have inherited a Hud-Son Oscar 36 Bandsaw Mill. It hasn't been used in a while. I just got the how to manual. I hope to get it up and running soon. I am in Chatham county
