Where can I find the best deal on a decent fence to get started with? I assume that most any fence from a similar machine would work, maybe I should just order a Grizzly replacement fence for one of their machines?

OK, figured out how to attach a picture of the shaper.

I have been toying with the idea of making one, but was wondering if there was much advantage to a "factory" type fence with the chip collection hook up and or adjustability of the two sides independently of each other?

If it were me, I'd make one. Not too hard out of 3/4 sandeply. That's what I'm using on my homemade router table. But if you're opposed to that, I'd check ebay. I've seen several OEM fences there from table saws that people are selling after upgrading to a better fence.

Yeap, just make one. Your shop made fence will be superior to what Griz. sells.

I am going to be making a fence for a shaper I aquired. Shouldn't be anything wrong with just making one it will serve the same purpose.

well, I though I had figured out to put a picture in the original post, guess not. Anyway, I've got a picture in my album, if it matters.
