I am looking for a magnetic starter / switch assembly ( 5 hp single phase)and know of a couple of sources but would like to look at all possibilities before pulling the trigger on one. Known sources are:

There is a used electrical parts dealer in Burlington, NC.
Southland Electrical Supply.
I've bought all kinds of switches, breakers, starters from them for years.

If the motor has built in thermal protection, you can build your own. You won't need the heaters in motor is thermally protected. They are basically a N.O., N.C. switches, along with a relay and transformer if you want it to be low voltage. N.O. switch is the start and N.C. switch is the stop switch. I build magenetic starters for my tools. In case of a power failure, I don't come back to a running machine. | |
