I believe I have a link to one at work I will post the link in the morning if I can remember. Its not actually a plan, but is a picture, and is really cool. It wouldn't be too difficult to replicate.

No benches here but a folding temple table should give you some design ideas for coversion to a bench or stool. Some pretty neat and pricey Japanese antiques. I must be in the wrong business .

Here is more of an outdoor style garden bench. Don't know if it will help or not, but it was one of the best I have seen. WoodNet Forums: another garden bench finished!!
