I'm on the hunt (obsession, quest, etc) for a few 18th century English hand saws.

Rumors are, the time frame I want, the saws had 3 small crowns stamped on the sawplate. Denoted something about the steel I think.

Anyhoo, I heard that those saws were not as common in this country, and it might be easier to get them from tool dealers in England.

Anyone recommend any of the sellers or dealers based over there?

Jim

Re: English Antique Tool Dealers....

One of my friends over there recommended this site. They don't have many hand saws now but you could request a lookout for your needs.

You might try Patrick Leach, a veteran internet dealer. Mostly American tools. but does get the odd English tool and will keep an eye out if you ask.

Re: English Antique Tool Dealers....

I've had good experiences with Tony Murland and Patrick Leach too. Excellent to deal with in my opinion.
