I am making headboards (painted) and would like to use some balls or something like that on top of the 4x4 styles. Need 4ea. about 4" in diameter. Anyone got any suggestions?

I have used fence post finials on a bed I made a long time ago. They take a god bit of sanding to get to be paint ready, but they are readily available. Also you might check Capital City Lumber, they have a large selection of wood balls in all different sizes and may have what you're wanting.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

If you have a lathe-turn them. If you count your time it is probably cheaper to buy them though .
