I'm fed up with my Delta miter guage that came w/my Unuisaw and am in the marklet for a new miter saw guage with at least a 24" extension.

Has anyone got any recommendations both for and against?

Thanks,
Dan C.

Tom (Toolferone) has one in the Woodcraft store which was very nice, and available at what I recall being a great price... sub $100???

I've got the JessEm Mite-R-Excel that I,m very pleased with. Its a little heavy and unwieldy getting into the track but when its inplace the extra heft makes it better. The settings are very positive and other than being a little pricey, it's great. So much better than the piece of junk that came with the saw (Jet).

I have the Osborne EB3. Very nice gauge. I believe Tom has a review of it on his site Woodworking Tool Reviews - How-To's - Plans - NewWoodworker.com LLC that was very favorable as well.

I also have the Osborne EB3 and I am perfectly satisfied with it. I don't know how it would compare with the Jessem but it is a 1000% improvement over the miter gauge that came with my saw.

Dan, I have the Incra V27. I love it, but it doesn't include a fence. The Incra 1000SE is also rated very high by Tom Hintz. It includes a fence and has more stops than the V27.

Oh yeah, it cost more

Roger

I know that the Osborne E3-B is usually around $150, but here it's being offered for $109. I also couldn't find it available on amazon or at Woodcraft. Are they going out of business? One has to wonder.

Chris,

Thanks for the lead on the Osborne EB3. The best price I found was $149.00. It seems from all the input that the Osborne is the winner. I went ahead and ordered it at $109 + $10 S&H.

I'll let everyone know how it is once it arrives and I set it up (pictures of course will be included). I have a bunch of picture frames to do so this will be a real benefit.

Thanks again to all for the input and guidance.

Dan C.

Who and where you get them seems to vary. LOML bought mine for me for Christmas two or three years ago at Woodcraft in Raleigh. I have not seen them in the store since then.

Chris spotted a discount price on the Gen Instruments website and I ordered from them at $109.00 + S&H. Their site sez the onl;y distributors in NC are the Klingspor stores. In other areas it's Woodcraft and some others. Amazon did not have when I looked.

I just got an e-mail from Gen Inst saying the Osborne has been shipped. I'll post a review once it arrives and I set it up.

Thanks again to all who provided comments, it sure makes tool/accessory selctions a whole lot easier.
