I picked up some nice carbide 1/2" shank bits for 1/2 price....I left the table saw moulding head inserts, that thing looks too scary for me. |

Just finished making some siding for a set of dormers (pattern is no longer available). The was about 750' of V-groove in them. Cut all of it with Sears moulding head with V-groove bits. This was in SYP, I don't think a router bit would have cut all of it, and made such a nice cut. In local Sears stores, bit sets are $2.98 per set-on clearance. Thru catologue, with freight, they come to about $25.00 each. Shop notes featured an article on moulding heads some time back. At that time , there was only Delta and Sears. The magic moulder had just hit the market. For cutting coves on tablesaw, it is hard to beat moulding head with 1" round nose cutters. If head was less than $20.00, with or without bits, it was a bargin. |

Yes, but please be real careful as this baby is a very dangerous cutter if you're not careful. I've got one, too, but it scares the *&$#@ out of me whenever I even think of using it!

Agree with the previous poster tho, that it is the bee's knees for cove molding. I also use mine a lot for cutting beaded edges.
