I've already noticed that there is another Travis around here. Growing up in Louisville KY, I was the only guy with that name. I moved to Arizona after college to live and work at the Grand Canyon. About that time there was at least one character named Travis on a popular TV soap opera. I discovered that the name was popular among the Navajos. I met my future wife and after awhile, we moved to Tucson where I got a graduate degree in Library Science. Upon graduation, the best job for me was in Raleigh and we've been in the Triangle ever since. I used to look for a better place to live, but I never found one. Oh, Raleigh had a mayor in the 60's (I think) with the first name Travis.

Welcome aboard. I'm sure you won't find your time here to be a travis-t.
Had to throw that one in since I've heard all the 'Dennis the Menace' yuks all my life.

Welcome Travis!

Didn't say much about your wood working interests?

My wife has a Master's degree in Library Science. She has put it to good use home schooling our children.

Welcome, Travis -- We like the name and there is more than one of your namesakes here -- heck, we even entrust our meager bank account to a guy named Travis, so it's gotta be good!

As Mike said, we'd love the hear about your interests in woodworking -- we already know you just love trees!

Erica was married to a Travis???? Well, she has been married to almost every name in the book.

Welcome Travis! Seems weird to say that....

I was named after a guitar player. Merl Travis (I think that is how you spell the first name). Not too many of us with that name, but seems odd when you do meet someone with it to "address" someone by your name.

If you think that's weird try having two other guys in your school with the same first AND last name.

Yeah, that happened to me in college. There was another Travis Montgomery at Carolina the same time I was there. He had it worse than I did though, his middle inital came before mine so he was listed first in all the directories. He was always having to tell people "no, wrong Travis, call the other one" and he got quite a bit of my mail as well....

I was named after Travis McGee... a character in a book series my parents liked. I do agree it's strange to be around another Travis on a regular basis. I have ejoyed it being a relatively unique name. There is another Travis at work and it's very strange to hear someone talk about "Travis" and have it not be me.....

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.
