I'm Benny Harris --born in Sanford, N.C. My grandfather, John W. Cameron, was a carpenter who owned a hardware store in Cameron, N.C. When he lost the store during the Depression, he fed the family based on outhouses he built for the Works Progress Administration. (Blessings on the sainted FDR!)

As an Army Brat I lived everywhere -- then went into the Navy and went everywhere else. Finally settled down when I married the prison librarian -- that's another story-- and am now in Jonesboro, Arkansas working as a receiving clerk for Wal-Mart.

Unlike my grandfather, I'm very unskilled with woodworking, I mostly did gunstocks till I needed to make some jigs -- then found a need to construct other things. But my finances are very limited.

For the last month I fought with some laminated bamboo I got very cheaply. Have now decided to "declare victory" over it and get some real wood for the next project.

This is an extemely friendly site and I've enjoyed reading the knowledgeable postings.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Welcome, Benny. Did you see Felix Jones, Razorback grad, run a kick-off back for a TD on Monday's Cowboys-Eagles game?

Welcome Benny. Living in AK I guess you won't be making to many of our shop crawls. Just remember there are no dumb questions and we love pictures.
