New guy in High Point

Hey everyone. I’m Scott Markwood, a new member and an 8 year resident in the Jamestown/High Point area. I’ve been an active woodworker all my life, both professionally and as a hobbyist. I am a Trainer for a German owned hardware company, and in years past have managed stores for and or been an Instructor for Shopsmith Inc. in Dayton Ohio, Boston Mass and Columbus Ohio. My woodworking interests tend towards the Shaker and Mission style, but mostly I enjoy restoring tools and building jig and fixtures. My friends make fun of my router obsession, and as far as my wife knows I own 15 routers. I feel a bit like the character that Mel Gibson played in the movie Conspiracy Theory, who had an obsessive compulsion to find the book The Catcher in the Rye, and if he found it he had to buy it! The difference here is I occasionally sell one or give one away, so I don’t feel so bad. I’m into three wheeled cars, corn cob pipes, classic toys and researching US patents. Wow, I just re-read what I just typed and realized what a nerd I am! Oh well, maybe a new router will pacify me. That’s enough for now. Yours in sawdust, Scott

Welcome Scott,
Sounds like you'll be the go-to guy when I have router jig questions. BTW I sure hope you don't have your shop rigged to self-destruct the way Gibson's loft did.
