Thank you EVERYONE who participated in the shop crawl, and those who played a part in the planning. It was a LONG, but FUN day... friends, shops, tools, freebies, Woodcraft, and BBQ!

A unexpected BIG thanks for Woodcraft for supporting North Carolina Woodworker and for making the shop crawl EXTRA special this year! Dennis, the store manager in Matthews, coordinated with his vendors and really went the EXTRA MILE for each of us on the crawl. This is an sneak peak of the goodies that Woodcraft -- and their vendors like Fast Cap, Delta / Porter Cable, Norton, Timbermate, DMT, General Finishes, and Micromesh -- provided those that attended the crawl & made it to the fourth shop in the crawl. This was extra special and really WOWed us all. (If you didn't get a bag, I apologize but they are all claimed and gone with one per person -- and a few unaccounted guests not getting one)

I'm sure more pics of the crawl will be up soon, but here's a sneak peek ...

Re: Charlotte Shop Crawl Thanks!

Don't know what I was thinking... but also wanted to say THANK YOU to Rick (thesource) from The Woodworking Source. Unexpectedly, he also provided us with a TON of notespads plus special discount coupons for Shop Fox machinery ... which I think may have pushed a few people "over the edge" from the talk I heard! Thanks RICK!

Re: Charlotte Shop Crawl Thanks!

Thanks to everyone involved. I had a great time.

I was so impressed with all the clean, organized shops that I wanted to come home and clean mine up. Thankfully, that wore off on the drive home. I ended up making a bigger mess trying out the discounted lathe chuck I bought at the Woodcraft stop.

Re: Charlotte Shop Crawl Thanks!

Thanks to everyone for putting this together again - and thanks to Woodcraft for the great goody bag. My father-in-law and I had a great time together and talking with everyone throughout the day. He was amazed at how nice everyone was... but I already knew! Thanks again! See you next year!

Re: Charlotte Shop Crawl Thanks!

Thank you Jeremy for all of your hard work pulling this together!

I wish I could have attended more than lunch, but the I enjoyed the brief time I did have with everyone. and hopefully the little future woodworker tagging along with me wasn't too much of a pain!

Hey Jim, is there any way to setup the gallery to run a slide show? My finger cramped up clicking through all those pics last night!

I second that, thanks to Jeremy for getting it together. It was great meeting folks. Tim you future woodworker wasn't a pain at all. Give me a preview of what my 3 month old will be doing soon enough

The crawl gave me good ideas on organizing my shop.

Re: Charlotte Shop Crawl Thanks!

I'll add my thanks to everyone who had a hand in setting in up and it was nice to meet everyone in person. The goody bag from Woodcraft and FastCap was amazing. Thanks to everyone who let us invade their territory...some mighty impressive shops out there. I took a few videos (my still camera battery went dead immediately) and will try to upload when I get a chance. Hopefully the shot of Dennis in front of his shop turned out. If not, Dennis will have to get Donna to take another.

Re: Charlotte Shop Crawl Thanks!

A heads up to everybody about the Woodcraft bag. Mine had a coupon for 10% off @ WC with the usual stipulations. Don't throw the bag away without looking!

Re: Charlotte Shop Crawl Thanks!

Good call, Dennis and good reminder!

Also, if you guys and gals are in Woodcraft make sure to pass your thanks to them in person. Dennis, the store manager, put most of the coordination into this and he's there most days. I'm not sure how close they follow the forum, but I'm sure they'd appreciate your thanks in person too.

Re: Charlotte Shop Crawl Thanks!

When I originally posted this I left out some of the GENEROUS vendors that pulled through along with WOODCRAFT ... so this is my attempt to get the list correct and complete (I've updated the original post too!)

Fast Cap,
Delta / Porter Cable
Norton
Timbermate
DMT
Finishes
Micromesh

Again, THANK YOU!

Re: Charlotte Shop Crawl Thanks!

They redefined the term "goodie bag"!
