Thank you EVERYONE who participated in the shop crawl, and those who played a part in the planning. It was a LONG, but FUN day... friends, shops, tools, freebies, Woodcraft, and BBQ!

A unexpected BIG thanks for Woodcraft for supporting North Carolina Woodworker and for making the shop crawl EXTRA special this year! Dennis, the store manager in Matthews, coordinated with his vendors and really went the EXTRA MILE for each of us on the crawl. This is an sneak peak of the goodies that Woodcraft -- and their vendors like Fast Cap, Delta / Porter Cable, Norton, Timbermate, DMT, General Finishes, and Micromesh -- provided those that attended the crawl & made it to the fourth shop in the crawl. This was extra special and really WOWed us all. (If you didn't get a bag, I apologize but they are all claimed and gone with one per person -- and a few unaccounted guests not getting one)

I'm sure more pics of the crawl will be up soon, but here's a sneak peek ...

It was a fun day. Woodcraft's surprise was the icing on the cake. Thanks to everyone that had a hand in putting this together and opening up their shops and homes to all of us.

That Woodcraft bag was a real surprise. Thanks to Jeremy for representing us and the kind folks at Woodcraft for being so generous. I'll work extra hard to spend my money locally now!

Re: Charlotte Shop Crawl Thanks!

What a day!!

I hope to share lots of stories and a boat load of pictures over the next few days.

Let me first say, THANK YOU!!! to all the Shop Hosts. I've never seen such clean shops in my life! We did peek in a few dust collectors and confirmed the existence of wood dust

Besides clean shops, there were some mighty tasty treats! Dennis started us off with Coffee and homemade cinnamon rolls, Jeremy has soda, brownies and banana bread (who knew he was a pastry chef?), Pete had cold water and an amazing and warm cake, and Mike capped off our traditional final shop beer!!

Also, a few kind words to Jeremy for organizing the Crawl. In addition to working with the Shop Hosts, he created the routes, booked lunch and scored a HUGE GLOAT from Woodcraft. His effort payed off, THANKS!!

Dennis (Gotcha6), in addition to hosting, stepped forward and created some really snazzy laminated name tags for everyone! He did a great job rest assured, those tags will be worn for many events to come.

Chad (Toolman) was the Carpool Coordinator. His efforts helped us reduce the number of solo drivers. He also was The Form-Man. All the sign up sheet forms, Chad created for us.

JRS, Bkind2anmls, and flywelder all volunteered as Official Shop Crawl Photographers.

The Shop Crawl Committee (SCC) put in a lot of work on this. We met weekly, had lots of good discussions and came up with many great ideas. It was my pleasure to work with all of you.

Well, I run on and on, so I'll wrap up by saying, yes, again, Thanks!! to everyone involved.

For those who do have pics or care to peruse them, we have a Photo Album setup for this crawl.

Re: Charlotte Shop Crawl Thanks!

Sounds and looks like a great time! I unfortunately had family obligations in MD and VA so this was the first crawl I have missed. Nice scoreon the WC bags! Great job by the organizer committee! I am glad I did not have to do that work. Jim should be congradulated for his leadership on this endeavor.
