This is for the Mods and Admins. What if you posted a small graph, "thermometer" or other device on the Home page that shows the daily progress of donations? (Similar to what other charities sometimes do) Be creative-- a saw cutting a board, hammer driving a nail, brush painting something, etc. Might encourage people to donate toward reaching the quarterly goal? Just a thought.

Here are some random thoughts for everyone to ponder:
"If not now, then when? If not me, then who?"
"I looked around and said why isn't SOMEBODY doing something? Then I stopped and realized that I am SOMEBODY..."

I've run a few things up the proverbial flag pole. There are a few options and packages we could use. Some are simple, some are full blown Donation systems.
I'll bump the Staff discussion threads with your encouragement.
Thanks for the suggestions!
This is not really an Off Topic post. I'm going to move it to the Fund Raising Forum
Another option is to open a Help Desk thread with a type "Suggestion" when you have ideas or things you'd like to see done with the site.
Jim

Personally, I am for doing the barometer. It would be a bit painful for me, as I would be the one to update it. Although I am not the fund raising director, I am the treasurer. My perspective is that Tar Heel collects the money and I count the money since I hold the financial accounts.
Back on the subject. It has been suggested to do the barometer thingy, but then we have had some members express dissatisfaction with the fund raising banner at the top of the screen so in the name of trying to do the right thing, a decision never got made.
I am just the lowly treasurer. I would suggest every member send the President (DOUGLAS ROBINSON) a Private Message and maybe he will get motivated.
He REALLY likes getting lots of PM's so feel free to send multiples!!!!! |

Seriously, we had briefly discussed it, but we had gotten side tracked. Between the raffle, the turning symposium, the Klingspor event, our personal lives, and then woodworking, it is tough to keep up at times. |

We need 501-c3 status, too
Maybe we should cut staff salaries

Now if those ads had pictures of Cindy Crawford I might feel differently.... |

You have assumed too much. We just don't work that fast as we are spread all over the NC. Scott, Travis and I discussed briefly today when we got together for other corporate business, we need to discuss it with the entire BoD next. After that, if we decide to try it, the highly-underpaid (i.e., not at all) web administrators will have to program it.
