Rescue Mastiff

A friend of a friend is getting rid of a Mastiff, unless I can talk her out of it. She just had twins. The dog is a female and (3) yrs old. I'll post more when I know it.

We have a mastiff they are awesome. If you might be interested let me know.

I'm not in the market for a mastiff... but do you have a photo to share?

Ask her if she is going to just throw away the kids when she gets tired of them too! Sorry, but it ****es me off that people make a commitment that will be 10 to 15 years and they can say "I don't feel like caring for this creature anymore"! Have her check with some of the rescue groups that are around.

Re: Rescue Mastiff

I don't know the situation but sometimes animals and kids don't mix. I know that when my twin grandbabies were born almost two years ago, it was found out that they were allergic to cats, so the household cat had to go.

Re: Rescue Mastiff

George, you are probably right. I jumped to a conclusion without knowing the facts. I hear too many bad stories. I apologize for making an assumption. At least there is an effort to find a new home for the dog. There are people who wouldn't make that effort.

Re: Rescue Mastiff

Phil - what kind of Mastiff ? I'd also like a picture and some details.

My inlaws had an old English that they lost due to poor health. I'm not sure if they'd be interested in another, but they love the breed so you never know.

Re: Rescue Mastiff

Ed - You're pretty much in line with my thinking. I want to talk to the lady and have LeAnn talk with her. She's got 2 week old twins, so I know life is rough now but it'll get better, and she may regret giving up her dog.

I'll post a pic when I get it. She is a friend of a lady I work with. My co-worker couldn't get in touch with her last night but has let her know I'm a mastiff owner and willing to help place the dog.

I'll let you guys know more later.

Re: Rescue Mastiff

Phil, email some info to me. My wife knows quite a few people that are involved with different rescue groups.

Re: Rescue Mastiff

Hey guys! Thanks for the interest in the Mastiff. Luckily the lady has suffered through the first week of twins and has decided to keep her dog as we were all recommending.
