If you're not selling online, you are missing the boat.

The internet is the biggest marketplace the world has ever known ... and still too many people are missing out on the potential.

Now that doesn't mean everyone can "make it happen" out here, it does still take everything a traditional business needs ... good decisions, a plan, a strategy, some financial investment (well designed website, professional graphics, identifiable domain name, etc), and good common sense.

Also, email lists of qualified customers (the definition of qualified varies business to business). Create an email marketing campaign to focus in on your target market. There is software out there that you can use to create a marketing campaign and it can automatically send out emails at timed intervals for you ... or you can do it "on demand".

Also, if you are going to take your crafts online ... my suggestion is spend the extra nickel to get an ONLINE shopping cart where people by pay immediately (impulse) with credit cards or PayPal or the like. Anytime I run into a website that says "call to order" -- I NEVER end up ordering -- however, just like last night I went to a website to spend $30 and walked away spending $90 because it was too easy and the prices were good!

One more thing ... if you go online to sell, take GREAT QUALITY PHOTOS. Nothing is worse than bad quality (small size, out of focus, etc) pictures (especially of things that need a good visual inspection)

Jeremy, your information was great. I am green when it comes to selling on the internet so your help is appreciated. I am sure I will be coming back to you and others in the coming months. I hope the spring will find me with a clear plan and products in the making. Lorraine

You might have a look at this site: http://www.etsy.com

May or may not be worth your time and effort, until you get your site up and running.

Lorraine, thinks places like e-bay & etsy.com good places to try selling stuff online with least amount of effort. E-bay, may have the edge in total amount of visitor traffic. Never heard of etsy.com before about week or so back. If you root around etsy.com, will find stuff has been on there for several months

Would not over look trying to sell your crafts right here if it’s permitted.
