If anyone's interested and wants a chance to be on national TV

RALEIGH - The CBS Early Show will be broadcasting live from downtown Raleigh next Friday, July 13th from 7am to 9am, with a free concert by Ricky Skaggs and Bruce Hornsby during the show.

The live broadcast stage will be set up on Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh and the show will be broadcast live to a national television audience as well as locally on WRAL-TV5, the Raleigh CBS affiliate.

The public is invited to attend, but they ask that to be a part of the show's enclosed audience that you arrive by 6:30am. In addition, they ask that you RSVP to CBS at the contact number below.

To confirm your spot at the concert, please RSVP via e-mail at ButtnerC@cbsnews.com or call at 212-975-0032.Bruce Hornsby & Ricky Skaggs The two nationally known recording artists Ricky Skaggs and Bruce Hornsby will be at the live broadcast to play some songs from their new jointly released bluegrass instrumental album. The CD includes Hornsby's famous song "Mandolin Rain" as well as other favorites.

The singers will be performing with Skaggs' award winning band Kentucky Thunder. According to a description from the Piedmont Council of Traditional Music, Hornsby is no stranger to bluegrass as the Virginia native won a Grammy in 1989 for Best Bluegrass Recording for "Valley Road." Hornsby first collaborated with Ricky Skaggs on Big Mon: The Songs of Bill Monroe in 2000 and this year, they teamed up again to film an episode of Country Music Television's "Crossroads" series. In addition to their free concert on Friday, they will be returning to Raleigh for a full fledged concert of their bluegrass music at the Meymandi Concert Hall in Raleigh on March 26th, 2008.

The only reason I would even consider it would be to see Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder. They are pretty awsome, even if you don't care for bluegrass music.
