Unhappy

you lose another tree!

Returned home around noon to find one of my front yard Red Oaks down. When I moved here 16 years ago I figured it would be the first to go. It survived Fran, Dennis, ice storms, and snow storms. However, this mornings wind downed it and took off a few shingles. Amazingly it only took a few limbs off the surrounding trees

Of course, the good news is that I have new firewood conveniently located

Sure hope folks down east get through this nor'eastern ok!
Roger

Roger that sucks, but you won't have to go far for firewood now. We had a lot of calls today about trees/limbs coming down. The winds were gusting pretty strong. That tree doesn't look to me to be very stucturally sound, you were lucky it stood as long as it did. Be happy it didn't hit anything on the way down.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

So sorry to hear this, Roger!!

Do you reckon that there is any good oak worth salvaging? Hope you have a wood burning FP. You will be all set next winter! Hope you didn't lose to many shingles.

I have a quite few small limbs to pick up. Nothing really serious at all. (Just another trip around the yard (for the third time in a week) with the leaf blower and that should be it for the annual leave gathering frustrations!

Glad to here that all is well, other than than another stately oak!

Take care behind the chain saw when you get it fired up!

Wayne
