Deep fried turkey, whose got their special recipie

I am doing my second Thanksgiving this year, 8 people coming. Last year I tried a deep fried turkey and loved it. Just in case I screwed up I also did one in the oven, and I came out really good too. But this year I want to only fry the turkey and free the oven up for all the other delicious dishes. I used the marinade mix that came with my fryer rig and am looking for something better. Also, I don't recall the minutes per pound guideline. So any of ya'll experienced turkey fryers out there, chime in and help me to top last years dinner. My Dad, actually, told me that it was better than Mom makes, and they are coming back next year. Thanks for the advice in advance. Dave

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

One of the doctors at work fries up 15-20 birds that he distributes to the staff, and feeds the clinic folks. I try to corner him and get a mixture from him.

Dave, I have had them plain and I have had them marinated and as long as they were not burned I didn't see any great difference. But I would be willing to conduct taste tests for you. Just give me a few minutes to get there and you supply the napkins and bib....

It's probably too late for this year, but you should try a turkey on a smoker. One of the best I've had, unless you count the other cuts of meat on the smoker.
