Roger-------glad to hear you were safe from the action. It can happen anywhere though. I got assaulted coming out of the grocery store a little over a year ago. Never dreamed that would happen. Luckily there were no fire arms involved. They did tell me, after court appearances, the guy was carrying a box cutter at the time. Now I never let my wife go to the store alone.

Is'nt it shame that we must be concerned about these things, but you have to do what makes you feel safe.

Roger,
Glad to hear you are ok! Smart thing to do..getting out of there! There seems to be the same thing happening to a lesser degree in the Charlotte area, mostly home invasions for robbery. I think I will stay out in the boonies of Kannapolis. Here you still hear the shots, but it is just the neighbors plinking or killing a snake!

If it continues, You might have to invest in one of these.....

MK19 40mm Machine Gun, which at the rapid rate of fire can shoot up to 60 grenades in a minute. This would solve the problem in your neighborhood. But I think Law Enforcement and the US Army might have something to say about your using it.

Keep your eyes open and your head down, Roger! Stay safe!

Roger, I am sure glad you are safe! I'm glad to be back here rather than Anderson. They seem to have shootings all the time - and on the main drag!

Wow Roger! That the kind of stuff that you always hear about someplace else and you never even think about it happening in your neighborhood. I really hope that it was an isolated incident.
I have a good friend who just graduated from the Durham fire academy and is now on shift downtown out of station 2. I don't know if he's brave or stupid, but I know that's not the place for me!

I assume from your little mad face that you took that as an anti-gun statement. In re-reading my post I can see how it could be taken that way, but that was an anti-getting shot at statement, nothing more. I own guns myself.

Yeah - something like "Thanks- do you know where WE can get one?"

yep, but I think there are a whole bunch of guys with US Army on their chest who might take offense if we tried to get ahold of one...... But at times like these, at least the thought is nice.

But, in a pinch, a .308 or a 30-06 w/ a long range scope will work just fine if needed!

Hey, guys, this thread is starting to go places where sooner or later I will have to step in. So I have decided to step in now. It has nothing to with my personal feelings about guns, but sooner or later, this will switch politics, so, I'm closing the thread. Please feel free to send me Flames, rants, etc, via PM
