Question

We found a Corel Draw! 3.0 Ver on one of the boats we bought. There were two CD's which look the same. I had installed it, using one of the CD's on my Gateway Desktop a couple of years ago and it seemed to work fine. When I just installed it on my Dell Laptop, it seem to work fine except when I go to save a copy of the our shop blueprint, it gives me an "Error Writing....." Any suggestions?

Had also planned on using that program to make scroll saw patterns from photos, drawings, etc.

On top of the saving problem, when I installed it, the install wizard put it on my c drive and not in the c drive in the "Programs" file! Now I can uninstall it!

I'll tell you guys, this woodworking thing is getting pretty complicated and expensive!

version 3 - WOW... you're taking me back to my graphic arts childhood! 'Error writing...' sounds like it wants to write to a drive that doesn't exist - try 'Save As...' and see where it tries to point you. If that yields weirdness, we'll need to take a closer look at how the software is installed.

As for the 'Program Files' thing, if I remember correctly, CorelDraw 3 was for Windows 3.1, so I don't even think there WAS a Program Files directory. And uninstalling was a different beast altogether.

Keep me posted on what you see - I'll be happy to help you figure this one out.Cheers!cliff

Yeah Cliff, it's an oldie but goodie!! I think the cavemen used it for their drawings on cave walls.

I had tried the "Save As" command and got the same result.

I tried entering the complete filename with the suffix to... No good.

I know it worked on my Gateway with the Windows XP Home Edition which is also the OS on this laptop.

Dunno.....must be whooly boogers in my puter!

Any help would be appreciated.

Duke
