I just got back this afternoon from Myrtle Beach. In other words, back to reality . We've gone 2-3 times during the summer, for about the last ten years.

Dino Drosas is a NC Woodworker member, and as some of you may know he is also the co-owner of Cagneys Old Place and The Flamingo Grill. I found this out when I asked him in one of his post earlier this year.

Well, I have found over the years that people are quick to complain, but very seldom give a pat on the back.

I took the family to Cagney's last Saturday afternoon, and have to say that the food and the service were EXCELLENT.

I had the ribeye and shrimp, my daugther had filet mignon and lobster, and the wife had She Crab soup and Flounder Cagney. The steaks were tender enough to cut with a fork, and my wifes flounder was the thickest flounder filet we had ever seen.

The decor was very nice, it appeared to be out of the 20's or 30's. My wife liked it so much, she had to take some photos( I would post them, but she just bought the camera, and I don't know how to download them yet).

The manager came by our table during our meal, and ask if everything was to our liking and thanked us for dining with them. Personally, I like it when the "person in charge" cares enough to do this. It shows they stay on top of things, and cares about what's going on.

So if any of you are in Myrtle Beach, I highly recommend stopping by for a great meal with a great atmosphere. Plus, you would be supporting a fellow member.

Dino, KUDOS to you and your staff at Cagney's.

Anywhere with She Crab soup is a good place to eat. I love that stuff!!!!
It's too bad that Dino wasn't there to enjoy your dinning experience with you. I am sure that it would have made him proud to know how much you enjoyed it
Thanks for the review, I'll have to make sure to visit if I am ever in Myrtle Beach.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Chris,

Thanks for dining with us at Cagneys during your stay in Myrtle Beach and for the great review. We have been in business here for thirty-one years and many of our great staff have been with us much of that time. The staff knows their job well and I am happy to hear they were doing it well. I am sorry I was not there at the time to visit with you. I was working at the Flamingo Grill that night, as I switch locations with my partner every other night. BTW: my partner's name is also Dino, so if any of you should ever come and ask for me, you will know to get the right one. Chris; have you ever considered getting out of woodworking and into writting restaurant commercials and reviews?

Dino

Dino,

Like I said in my first post, people are quick to complain. So, when I see someone doing something right, I like to make sure they get a pat on the back.

I also see that you are a TV star. I saw you and your partner on the local tv channel ( 33 or 18, I forget which one) advertising Cagneys. I really wanted to try The Flamingo Grill that night, but the wife saw your baked flounder on the menu( we picked that up in the hotel lobby) at Cagneys and so we went there instead. I'm sure The Flamingo Grill is just as great. I want to try that sometime as well.

I sure envy you. I have always wanted to own my own business, and to live in Myrtle Beach. But, you have both, and not only that, but TWO successful business's. I've been trying for the last several years to talk my wife into tring to find a business we could work at together, but she is not quite as adventuresome as I want to be. I guess she is the more level headed one.

Just keep up the good job, and I'm sure that you'll be in business another 31 years.

Oh yeah......enjoy that nice Mrytle Beach weather for the rest of us
