Unhappy

I broke my walnut wood pen . it still works after I dropped a peice of lumber on it, and cracked the cap in two places. It was something special, Clay made a matching pen and pencil set for me back in the summer. It is my only wooden pen and I carried it around with me most everywhere I went, including to saw lumber. I should have left it at home on my desk . Now it's back in it's case along with the pencil, I'll keep it there for memory sake and so I don't damage it anymore than it already is.

After looking at it closer I found the clip also broke loose . I have to admit it was a tough pen, Clay made it well. The cool thing about it was the CA finish. When it got nasty all I would do is wipe it with a tissue and it would shine like new again. Here's a picture I'm afraid it's un-repairable .

I would be willing to trade some pen blanks for another pen and pencil set if someone has the time to turn them, I'll make it worth your while.

Seriously??? Dude, I'm here for you! You have already been generous to me! If you would like to have someone more local to you, that would be fine, but I would be glad to help you out!

Cheers,
Chris

Did you already lose that red oak burl? Or does it not match your wardrobe?

George

Jeff
Consider it done my friend. What type of wood would like it made from? Let me know wood preference and I will make you a set.

Chris I'll take you up on that deal - Please select 18 blanks that you would like to have from my posting over on IAP.

penturners.org - Pen blanks for sale

Post your order to the IAP thread, sorry to have to ask you to do it that way but it's how I've started keeping inventory of my pen blanks. Of course yours will be free of charge so ignore the prices. I'll put two more blanks in the envelope that I would like for you to turn into a pen and pencil set.

Thanks man I really appreciate it

Jeff.. send it back to me. I'll see what I can do for it. Worse comes to worse, I can knock out the cap and turn another other one. May need to turn the bottom section as well, to ensure the grain matches well.

I'm going to send the pen back to Clay for repair. I really appreciate everyone’s offer. Clay I think you'll notice it has got much darker than when you first turned it. I guess that's why it's called black walnut hu?

Thanks
