Went to an real estate auction and bought me a house, so next few months it will be remodeling time.

It is a 93 model double wide on a little over a half acre lot with a brick foundation. It belong to a buddy of mine so i Know what needed to be done to fix it up.

The workshop I think is 24 x 30 all ready wired with 110 and 220.

Going to re-drywall it paint it, new cabinets and flooring and it will be ready to move.

final price was $23,100 that's including fees and everything.

have any dry wallers here that i can bug if i get into a jam on the tapping and mudding?

I think you are the first person I know who bought a house at auction. sounds like a great opportunity. LOML has hung more drywall in this house than he Wants to remember. I'm sure there's someone closer who can assist/advise. Congrats on the gloat@

I have only done small repairs on drywall, but I do not think you will have much trouble. Lots of dust, so be sure to get yourself a good respirator.

Trying to dodge a YOU SUCK, here in the Other Stuff???

Sounds like a good deal. I have done quite a bit of drywall its not hard. when putting it up just remember to put it up bed to bed or but to but.
if you look at it the edges have an indented edge thats the bed. There are two different muds that ive used one is wetter than the other the one thats wetter is easier to work with IMO. Use paper tape. anything els just ask.

Congratulations !

It's great that you won the house. On the drywalling, You can by bags of quick dry plaster for when you need it done quicker, some dry as fast as 15 mins.. Remember, there is no need to sand between coats, just run a scraper over the old spackle to knock don the bumps. When you put one coat on top of another, the first will soften back up and smooth out. This way you only have to sand at the end, saving time.

Good luck.

Jimmy

John

Congrats on the house. I do believe that is the largest snag ever reported on this site. We really do want to see some photos.

i have a ton of the house pics in the photobucket acct.

Get this wife told me to do the insulation and walls in the building first. Since i will need to move the tools down there before we start the inside of the house. Her idea and not mine.

Anybody that takes more photo's of the workshop than the house, definitely has their priorities in order!

Congrats on the score - it loks like a great deal.
