Over Christmas my in-laws visited ( my FIL is a retired plumber), and a bunch of little plumbing problems ( leaky faucet and toilet) got fixed.

BUT... as soon as they left (yesterday) my kitchen faucet broke and I caught some sort of bug. Feeling lousy I went to Lowes and bought a replacement, but after trying to install it, with a fever, I had to stop because I felt so bad. So get this... my wife asks if she can help, so I sat down in a chair and coached her in the R&R of the faucet. In an hour we were done. I told her the plumbing work around the house is now a girls job. Even her father was surprised and said that if he realized that she could do it, he would have used her as a helper years ago.

I'll take that as a present any day of the week.

Looks like you got a keeper there, or she has a keeper depending on your point of view. Either way 3 cheers on a jobe well done with team work.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Wish I had a plumber / plumbing-capable person in the house. I'm able to figure most of it out, but it's not work I enjoy. Maybe I should talk to the girls about what trades to look for in a potential husband...

Dave,

I'd trade LOML's plumbing skills for one of the elves, but I don't think that she would agree to it and I'm not sure that I could afford the beer that the elf would drink.

Jimmy this might be a bad thing. Next time you try to make an excuse why you are in the shop and your honey do list is not done you might get challenged.

Good luck.

I think it is great that you and your wife can work as a team to repair the plumbing. Did that surprise you?
My LOML has caught me off guard several times, it shows that I under estimated her ability.
Do not confuse this with repairs, painting, cars with glowing warning lights or why the door shoe rack would not hold any more shoes.
When it came to financing she excelled.
31 years into this blissful union we still find new items about each other.

Later,
Albert

Albert,

My wife never ceases to amaze me. When I built a shop in NJ she carried shingles(1/3 of a pack at a time) up to the roof for me, Helped me hang sheetrock, pick axed a trench(24" deep in clay), pulled romex, and helped clean up concrete chunks.

So, as I like to say "she's a keeper"
