Anybody have anything to say positive or negative about these doors? They're sold at HD. We ordered one last night because, well...you can walk by our back door and feel the breeze. It's a 4' wide (read non-standard and $$$$) inswing, french door. Yesterday was the last day of HD's 15% off of select special order doors. We have 3 days to cancel the order of somebody tells me that they're a total POS.
Yes, we could have gone with a single 36" with a sidelight, but my wife really likes symmetry .
I know that Andersen is the best but retail for this door is about $1200 versus $2700 for an Andersen. For a house that we plan to be in for ~5 yrs, we couldn't justify the Andersen.
Any honest input is appreciated!

What? Make something? How does that work? I'm just in this to collect tools...

But seriously...
I might consider it if I could figure out a way to put a maintanence free (aluminum) exterior on it. But then again, I'm only planning on living here for ~5 years and can't see a huge time investment in something that I'm not going to get to enjoy for very long.

makes sense. I just put a new pre-hung door on the back of my house, when my mom was down. She played the role of carpenter's helper, the way I would have, had my father been there. Being my first door, it was a great learning experience. and I don't expect to be here much longer, either, maybe 4-5 years. but that is what I thought when I bought the house, 12 years ago
