I will not "butt" in here with rude comments allthough agree with a Domino for Santa's wish list.

Lots of good reasons to buy a domino, one real good reason not to buy one, at least for me $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
guess you'll be the butt of a few jokes, its ok just keep your chin up, and at least it was blood and not peach paint

the LOML would pipe in if you can't drive a chisel what makes you think you can handle a power tool like the domino ?

I wouldn't try to use that as leverage... but that is me...

I am glad you were not damaged worse,

Mark

I haven't bopped myself lately, but I did stick a chisel in a finger last week. As for the "disease", it goes into remission, but it comes back with force when it comes.

As for the Domino, you can't have a Domino without the accessories and you have to have the vacuum to go with it to keep the chips and dust down, and then you need the vacuum accessories, and then you need a systainer cabinet, and on and on and on and on.

Just remember, whatever tool you buy, there is always one better or an upgraded version that is supposed to solve every issue/problem you have ever had. DAMHIKT

But yeah, I got the bug bad. It might wear off a little in a decade or so. I don't consider this a problem though, still in the denial phase

Bas.
Yeah sure there's woodaholics anonymous club, we all sit around and drool over figure, crotch and butt cuts of wood. Ofcourse we never discuss how or why we became woodaholics we're just happy we did.

Some tall tale signs are:
* There is so much lumber in your shop there is no room to build anything.

* Wood is piled up outside in at least 6 different locations, sorted by species and marked by the tree the lumber came from.

* You have piles of lumber at other people's places because you don't have any more room at your own place. And you know how many boards are there and how many board feet are in each board. Ofcourse you need to keep track with a fancy spreadsheet.

* When the wife says you need to replace a piece of siding on the house and you go out and buy a clear #1 grade pine log that will saw out approximately 350 BF. This is so you can get that one piece of 1x7 siding and have more than enough to complete the job.

* You buy 4 Tractor trailer loads of cedar logs to build a deck around your pool. When really you could have got by just fine with 2, if you only were not so picky and used a little #2 instead of all #1 and better. Have you ever seen a Cedar tree with no limbs? Well I have and got the boards to prove it.

* When a tree falls in your back yard and you run out there with your log rule to figure up how many board feet your going to get out of it.

They're coming to take us away HEE HEE HA HA

OK Jeff, you have me out-maniaced here, in spades. At least when it comes to lumber But I wouldn't worry, not until you start giving each individual board a name.

On a totally unrelated topic - they're doing lots of road construction here in Cary. I was driving to the store the other day, and saw those big concrete sewer pipes stacked alongside the road. For a moment, I thought "Man, those pipes sure could move a lot of dust".....

I feel it's almost time for the first annual "You might have a woodworking problem if..." post.

{UPDATE}I just had a relapse. I couldn't contact my "sponsor" on the phone, couldn't fight it by myself. I just HAD to have another 690. It's a cruel disease.

Wife'll be home soon.

I remember a quote from a book I once had titled "Don't squat with yer spurs on & other cowboy wisdom" It goes,"Wisdom comes from experience, and experience comes from poor judgment." Sounds like you're gettin' there!
