Hey Everyone,

It's going to be the Wife & I's 4 Year Anniversary on November 11th and not sure what to do. Don't want to go too far. We have Daycare for our little one.

Some Ideas we have had.

1. Go to sometype of Woodworking Symposium. Don't know of any?

2. Go to the Coast to check out the Light house's/history. Where to go?

The Wife Said it was my year to choose since my Favorite number is 4 (Her's is 5)

What do I do? We are not reall familiar with North Carolina and what to get to know the State a little more~!

Thanks in advance for any ideas !!!

Looking over night? Or just a day trip?

Over Night.

Something not too expensive. We are looking for places to go and things to do mostly.

Will stay at the $29 dollar hotel if they have one.

If you are into history, find a nice B&B in New Bern and spend a day at Tryon Palace.

+1
She'll enjoy it as much as you but for different reasons.
Lots furniture & 18th century house decor to look at, and they have a working blacksmith shop on site. GO!

Sweet, I think that sounds Great, but just to be sure, there isn't any Woodturning/Woodworking Symposiums in the Raleigh area?

Thanks for the Push.

Governor's Palace is 2-3 hours at best including guided tour. It's really prettier in the spring/summer when the gardens are in bloom but go anyway.
Don't know about restaurants but there are bound to be a few in the shops at the waterside nearby.
You could also go to the Fireman's Museum there if you're inclined. Never been myself.

I suggest you consider spending a night or two in Ocracoke. Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is close by and Ocraocoke is a delightful, peaceful place to be this time of year. They have some B&bandsaw and some very good restaurants.
