I spent the better part of the day hanging at Fred's shop. I went over to learn how he makes those nice boxes! He was a great teacher and showed me his box making skills. Here is what we came up with in it's unfinished form.

Spalted wood that I reclaimed from a pallet (looks like Oak) and a piece of White Oak crotch wood from Fred's scrap bin. Keys are made from Bacote.









Thanks again Fred. Let me know how you like that Fingernail/Irish grind.

Glad you got to see me make scrap wood Gary! A good time was had and that box is going to be pretty when you get finish on it. had another visitor today. cris tully came by and picked up a RAS. we had a good visit too. havent tried the gouge yet. [had to work today] and then after talking for hours didnt feel like doing anything more today. come back anytime.
