Hi all.
Our local library is clearing out some of their back issues of magazines. I went down there to see if they had any ww'ing mags available. The only one I could find was Fine Woodworking. I don't know much about it, but from what I could tell, seems to be a decent mag. They had January 1984 through December 2005. (About 136 issues I think.) Price worked out to about .30 cents per issues. Only thing is, they are bound up like books. I like to read magazines, but I'm not sure how easy it will be to thumb through them in "book form".
For those that are interested, the library is the main branch in Downtown Winston-Salem. I didn't see any other ww'ing mags, but that doesn't mean they aren't there. I did see auto, guns, photography, guitar, and many other types for sale. Most are bound up in book form, but I believe they do have some single issues for sale also. The sale will continue tomorrow from 9am to 6pm and Saturday from 9am to 5pm. This might be good for collectors looking for certain issues of a particular mag.

I had never bought that many used mags at once, so I didn't know if the price was fair. I knew it seemed like a good deal so I pulled the trigger. Well, you've got 2/3's of the issues of the best woodworking magazine on the planet -- our Western NC Woodworkers Association was lucky enough to be given all but 10 issues between Issue #1 and #150 -- I paid nearly $60 for Issues #1 and #2 and have given the club permanent loan of the remaining missing issues from my holdings (I have everything from Issu #98 to present and 1/2 of the earlier ones. We now have only 5 issues missing for a complete set worth between $500 and $600. They are an incredible reference set.

I'm glad to hear the glowing reviews of the magazine. I had never had the opportunity to look through one, so I didn't know anything about it. Sounds like there will be plenty of information in there for me to learn from.
