in figuring out how to change file type. How do you change a Word document, which is actually a picture, to jpeg file? Or can that be done?

I composed a picture for the calendar but can not figure out how to upload it to North Carolina Woodworker .

Re: Need Assistance

One option is to copy the picture from Word document and paste it to mspaint application. The picture can be saved in jpeg format from mspaint application. I'm assuming that the operating system is Windows. If this does dot not help then please feel free to send me the word document and I will extract the picture in jpeg format for you.

Re: Need Assistance

How about file|export ? can you do that?

worst-case scenario, follow these instructions:

http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/gen...screenshot.htm to save it as one.

If that fails, pm me and I can export it to pdf then to jpeg

Thanks for the reply--------I tried copy/paste in a pm to you but it would not paste.

Took me forever to get the thing composed in MSWord -------it is windows xp professional. Got the tools here, just don't know how to use them.

If you will pm your email to me I think I can email the file to you.

Re: Need Assistance

Not knowing your doc, I'm only thinking out loud.

I believe Word can be used to create HTML documents. By going that route, it is possible your image would be saved as a jpeg.

Jim---------when I saved the document, the drop down menu did not offer jpeg as a file type.

Is there another file type that would work?

Re: Need Assistance

The picture should be an image in the word document. Can you not select the picture, copy it, and then paste it into paint brush?

Re: Need Assistance

I'm just guessing, but i'd look for a HTML or HTM type.

Possibly Hypertext Markup, or even Web Page.

Feel free to upload your file to our Documents Library (blue tab at the top). We can take a stab at the conversion.

I think Split Eastwood recently had a word doc dilemma much like yours, might pester him too.

Travis--------I went the "print screen" route, cropped and saved. But it saved to bmp file and still hides from me when I browse for the file to upload. It is in MSPicture Manager but does not show up under my documents, my pictures or any other picture folders I have.

It has my head smoking

Re: Need Assistance

When you save the screen capture in Paint, you have to select a different file extension thre using the combo box. Choose JPG.

I do not know what i did differently when editing the image but I was seeing options I had not seen before---------I was able to select the jpg option, save it, and find it to upload.
