Had all my siblings come to visit a couple weeks ago and am just now catching up on photos, etc. Anyway, with the visits, it necessitated a couple of the dreaded 190 mile round trips to RDU. That was the bad news (the drive, not the visits). The good news was that the flights were during the normal store hours of my favorite toy stores. So, from Klingspor's:

And from Woodcraft:

Boy, those trips to RDU sure do get expensive!! I'll post reviews as I get a chance to play with them some, but I can already say that I waited way to long to buy the Veritas!!!

Re: Mini Toyool Gloat

We go out to the airport a couple of times a week to pick and drop off our daughter. She is a flight attendant. You must go different way than we do, as we don't go anywhere near the toy stores. Or maybe it is because LOML is co-piloting. Or it could be because sometimes it is 11:30 PM when she gets in. She calls us when plane is taxing in ATL, and 30 minutes later we head for the airport. We usually get there about the same time.

Re: Mini Toyool Gloat

I come in on US64 from the east, which means if I take the 440 loop Klingspor's is only 1/4 mile up Capital which is the third exit after I get on 440, and coming back, if I take 540, the 2nd exit after leaving RDU is 70, which runs right past Woodcraft and leads back to 440. It is actually 11 miles shorter going 440 than 540 going to RDU, but I base my route on time of day and traffic on 40 between RDU and Wade Ave. If the time of day is right, I can be at RDU about 1 hr 15 min after leaving the house.

However, I love it when a plan comes together!!

Also, the best pit stop in between here and Raleigh is Zebulon, which is also the home of East Wake Lumber, but I pushed the budget enough this time before I got there.

As you can see, it gets real expensive for me to go to Raleigh!!

Re: Mini Toyool Gloat

Mark,

At least something good comes out your visits from siblings, I usually get heartache. Nice pick ups, it's amazing how much things, that fit in a grocery bag, can end up costing when they come from woodworking stores.
