Started the day with breakfast with Joel Thorne at Bojangles in Harrisburg. That boy LOVES his ketchup biscuits! Oh yeah, Phillip was there also. Then Joel, Howard and I (oh yeah, Phillip went also) went to the Klingspor event in Hickory. Joel really enjoyed the show, got him a big yellow balloon, a big red apple, and enjoyed several graham crackers. Oh yeah, Phillip pushed him around in his stroller.
Joel got to meet Tracy, Rob, Scott, froglips, Travis, Matt, and several other North Carolina Woodworker members and friends. Oh yeah, Phillip got to meet them also!
After cruising around the show for a few hours, Joel, Howard, Scott, Matt, Travis and I went to lunch at J&S Cafeteria, where Joel ate a big lunch. Oh yeah, his dad, Phillip, thoroughly PO'd him at the dinner table and Joel had to straighten him out about when you eat "cake" vs mac and cheese!
After lunch, Howard and I stopped by the Woodworking Source and met Rick DiNardo. Bought a sheet of sapele plywood and a router bit. (Joel wasn't with us on this, he had Phillip drive him either to Kyle's place or home while he took a nap!)
Good to see everyone at the show. I came away with a Kreg Master System and a good bargain in a Freud 12" 40T blade for my slider. Can't wait until tomorrow for them to call me and tell me when they'll deliver my new Drill Press that I won in the raffle!!

Rick's a nice guy and has a nice selection of stuff. Gave me a good deal on the router bit! He's got quite an operation going there. Steve Sanders was there along with Craig? Breeden. Howard may but some alder from him to build cabinets.

It was great to all of you guys today -- we're glad that Joel let you join him in all the fun -- but I understand he's still a bit miffed about that lousy knot his Pop tied in that big Yellow Ballon that's up in the ceiling above the North Carolina Woodworker booth! Hope you got him another one!

Sounds like you enjoyed some of life's best experiences. I assume Joel is the grandson. I have become pure softy since the coming of my grandson.

James...Joel is my son, he forced me to take him to the show yesterday. And he woke up this morning forcing me to go out to the shop. I'm not sure what's gotten into him, but all of this woodworking is tough to swallow :-X
Barb...Anytime you wanna ride down to Charlotte come on. Doodle (aka Joel) would LOVE the attention

Doesn't sound like a GOOD day to me, it sounds like a GREAT day. .gif) I do not know if you have ever used the Kreg system before but I am sure you will love it. IMHO it is one of the greatest developments in recent years and cannot be beat for strength and speed in joinery.
