You know how kids are... A wiseman once told me " kids can tear up an anvil". I would also tap on the wifey to sew up the tent. |

Decide on your wood species and get your lumber.
Glue up or buy it thick enough to get 4" posts.
Figure out how tall you want it to be. Design your bed rails around the mattress you're going to use. The mattress will also give you the width you need.
Just break it down into small portions and go from there.

I have over my kids things then had to decide what to do with them 5 years later when they grow out of them. If it's truly going to be juvenile furniture it won't be around forever, and even if you used SYP it would probably be around forever anyway.
