I need to build a sturdy free standing fire wood rack. I need to get my wood off the ground and organized/cleaned up.

Re: I Seek your ideas for a fire wood rack design

I dropped two 4x4 posts in the gound, 18" under in cement & 4'-6" above, about 9 ft apart, screwed a 2x6 to both sides, stretched between them, with 3" of ground clearance(for easy weed eating). Seems to be pretty stable so far.
I'm not the best at times explaining things, but I tried.

My personal preference would be to weld one up out of square tubing. You could also relocate it easily if you needed to.

Scott, is your ultimate objective form, function or both? I know of some practical designs but I wouldn't want them by my front door. In the yard would be OK though.
