Guys, for 3 years now I have been looking for a tree slab consisting of 50 growth rings. I do not have any preference of what type of tree...........I just want that 50 ring count.

If you would just keep it in mind the next time you see a slab laying around and let me know about it, I would certainly appreciate it.
I love pallets and some of my early woodworking projects were done with lumber scavenged from crates that were behind the Honda motorcycle dealer(unknown exotics) and the local piano dealer. The Piano crates were built from drops and figured wood that could not be used in the piano.

I recently snagged a 4 x 4 pallet of what I think is Brazillian Cherry.

Anyway, enjoy.

My wife found a twig and stuck it in the flower bed as a joke, 3 years later it's 20 feet tall and I have to cut it down before it gets to the power lines. I tried drying a few pieces last year but it split badly, might try again though. From what I've read it's fairly hard, about 1540 on the janka scale. Has anyone tried using mulberry and had any luck with it? I'm thinking if nothing else it might make for good tool handles and maybe mallet wood, if I can dry it.
