Okay -- how does everyone get their prizes?

I have already given the Festool Domino set to Travis Porter and he is contacting Bill Hefner. For Dan Bowman, the Drill Press is at Klingspor's Woodworking Shop in Raleigh -- I will call them tomorrow morning and give them your name so you you may pick it up.

I will email all of the other winners to verify their addresses so we can get their prizes sent to them. Merrill77 was our luckiest winner since he won two prizes. I'll mail the gift certificate to him, but we will need to enlist the North Carolina Woodworker Pony Express to get the Curly Maple from Hendersonville to Raleigh (it is in my garage!)

And in case anyone was curious, this was a very successful fund raiser for the NC Woodworker! We sold 843 tickets ($4,215 total) and after deducting our prize purchase costs, we netted just under $3,000 (sorry, I don't have the exact figure off the top of my head).

Congratulations to the winners and thanks to everyone that participated. As was already posted, no one at the lunch won any prizes! Photos to follow.

With Roger's permission, I wanted to let everyone know that he is stepping down as a moderator. Roger has decided it's time to conclude his time as a NCWWer Moderator and return to regular membership. Be assured the he will continuing as an active member and supporter of the site.

Roger is one of the original members of this site. He has welcomed more people than almost anyone, except maybe DaveO, and shown the ropes to many more. He was one of the earliest moderators and I had the pleasure of serving on the first North Carolina Woodworker, Inc. BoD with him. He brings a terrific sense of humor, an open honest friendliness, and lot of wisdom to the table (in addition to a weird metal helmet).

While myself, the BoD and the staff will miss his input, we are pleased that he is NOT leaving the organization, but rather returning to general membership and woodworking in general.

For all you have done, Roger, a heart-felt "thank you!"

If anyone is going to the Piedmont Craftsmen's Fair this weekend in Winston-Salem, stop by and say hello. I will be at the Preview Party on Friday night, and most of the day on Saturday and Sunday. Most of the time I will be in the Applicant's Group Booth, where my work is being juried. I would look forward to meeting and chatting with anyone who stops by.

By tomorrow all ticket numbers for the Fall raffle should be distributed. They are being distributed in email in a PDF attachment from accounting@ncwoodworker.net. If you do not receive your ticket numbers, there could be a variety of reasons and actions you should take.

1. You didn't buy any tickets - therefore, you won't be getting any numbers.

2. The email was blocked due to spam filters or junk filters. Check your spam/junk folders.

3. We do not have a correct or current email address. The email I used is NOT from the North Carolina Woodworker site as many of you have blocked it from use. I used what was provided in past drawings/donation drives, what was provided in Paypal, or lastly, what was used on the raffle form. Send me a PM if you think this is an issue.

4. I fat fingered your email address. Refer to the resolution for item 3.

5. I forgot to click the check box "EMAIL RECEIPT". :embaresse Two cases of this so far. My apologies to Woodartz and JCraig.:embaresse

Do check to make sure your numbers "look right" or if you have too many or too few numbers. I may have fat fingered some when I entered them, but the master list is accurate as I have it automatically assigning them. I met up with Jerrye on Saturday and he gave me his tablesaw. Thanks Jerry! :notworthy: It is a Ryobi BT 3000. Well, I've spent most of the morning with a can of WD-40 and a rag and it is finally ready to go.

This is one of those saws to me that seems to have a lot of options. The removable tables, really cool sliding miter fence, etc. I find that most of the time, I use a tablesaw to rip wood, so I've got it setup for that right now. The miter fence, while really cool, is something that I will rarely ever use. So I think I'm going to cut a board and place it in the gap to the left of the blade. There are two holes that I could use to secure it, so hopefully that will work. On the other hand, if I needed to cut some sheets of plywood, everything is adjustable on this saw, so I could take a few minutes and be cutting plywood without much of a problem. :icon_thum

Anyway, I wasn't sure if any of you have this particular saw and/or have any advice about it. Here is a pic to prove that it did happen. :icon_thum

Matt, Pete, and I made it to the Woodworker Supply sale today. So did Amy, Jim (froglips), and JeromeB. We all enjoyed shopping and free food. After we picked up a few deals we went to the Hardwood Store where we again ran into Amy.

Needless to say we fill up Pete's blazer. Of yes it did happen.




P.S. Ask froglips what is plans to do with 10,000 screws?

Guys, I wanted to ask you thoughts on a topic...How would you handle if you your promised a item and gave "said person" a ton of wood(about 150.00 worth) and then gave them one special piece at a value of(125.00) for my promised item, and after a year it has never been delivered? I haven't asked, nor said anything.....but I see this person giving away several pieces like the one I asked for....

We're doing the Wakefield High School Mistletoe Market Holiday fair this year, well LOML is going solo with the help of a friend since I've got to work. Hopefully the weather will be nice enough for people to want to get out some, but not so nice that they want to stay outside instead of coming inside to spend money!! :gar-Bi
